NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - TheAlternativePress.com is undergoing a number of exciting changes this fall.
Publisher Michael Shapiro has announced that assistant editor Christy Potter Kass will be stepping down from her full-time position in order to pursue her graduate degree. She will be staying on with TAP as the morning news editor, and as a freelance reporter. Shapiro will take over as the night news editor, and Jason Cohen has been hired as a full-time reporter. In addition, Mike Neavill, former long-time reporter for the Independent Press has joined TheAlternativePress.com, covering New Providence, and Kimberly Bolognini and Alexandra Lubischer have joined TAP to cover Livingston and Chatham Township, respectively.
“We’re excited for Christy’s educational opportunities, and that she will be staying on with us in a different capacity,” Shapiro said. “We’re also pleased to have Jason joining us. He has been a freelancer for us for more than a year, and he is enthusiastic about local news and events. Jason will be providing even more local content for us every day, and you’ll be seeing him out and about in your towns. We’re also excited to have veteran Independent Press reporter Mike Neavill joining us as well as Kim and Alexandra, to further increase our original reporting in our towns.”
Additionally, each TAP town now has its own Facebook page. Click “like” on the page for your town and get the news right in your daily newsfeed. You also can sign up right on the site to get your local news delivered to your inbox every day.
“Over the past couple of years, TAP has grown in leaps and bounds, and as our readership continues to increase, we’re seeking out new ways to keep our local news fresh and continuous, and to make it convenient for our readers to keep up with what’s going on in their towns,” Shapiro said.
