CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham kindergarten children will be high school graduates in 2026 and college graduates in 2030. What does the future hold for these children?

Dr. Michael LaSusa, Chatham superintendent of schools, presented trending global statistics and asked how these children will compete "academically, professionally and socioemotionally in a global environment."

The lecture was the first in a series on the subject of "Future-Focused Education" being sponsored by the Chatham Education Foundation, presented Monday night in the Chatham High auditorium.

"Since our inception over 12 years ago, with the generosity of our many doners, we've given over $700,000 to our public schools," Stacey Ewald, co-president of the Chatham Education Foundation. "While the Chatham Education Foundation is proud of its work, we know that our schools need more. What do we need as a district? Where are we lacking and where do we need to go? What is needed to help our children succeed?"
