The Work-Family Connection Celebrates "Lights On" at Milton Avenue School

In America today, 15.1 million children are alone and unsupervised in the hours after school. This week, over 7,500 communities all across our nation will be celebrating quality after school enrichment programs. The Work-Family Connection at Milton Avenue School in Chatham will be having a week long celebration with local and national guests.
The schedule includes:
Monday, October 15: Jackie Kondel from the Summit Arboretum will be leading a program on birds. The children will participate in activities, games and they will make a bird feeder on this day.
Wednesday, October 17th: Celeste Stracco from the Morris County Interfaith Food Pantry will be reading the book "Stone Soup" and will lead a discussion and activities on hunger in our area.
On Thursday, Senator Thomas Kean, Jr will be sharing a favorite book of his with the children.
"Work-Family Friends' Day" will take place on Friday, October 19th. All children enrolled in the afterschool enrichment program at Milton will be able to bring a friend to the program for the day. Pre-registration is required.
The Work-Family Connection is a non-profit educational organization founded in 1989. It operates more than 30 before- and after-school, kindergarten extended day and summer camp programs throughout the state. Aurora Pipeling is the founder and executive director.
