The Pajama Program

Shovlin Mattress Factory has partnered with Pajama Program as an official drop off location. Their goal is to provide 1 Million Good Nights to children in need by December 31, 2015.
Pajama Program, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, provides New Pajamas and New Books to children in need. What makes for a good night? For most children, bedtime is a time of comfort, love and security. A time when children crave intimacy with their moms and dads, a few minutes of bonding and sharing in a safe, secure environment. But for the millions of children living in poverty in America, a good night is a luxury they do not often experience. The One Million Good Nights campaign will allow Pajama Program to essentially double its current capacity to distribute an additional one million new pajamas and one million new books to reach more children in need throughout the country.
As an additional incentive, you will receive 5 percent off the purchase of a new mattress (through December 31, 2013) when you bring in a donation for this amazing program!
Ron Shovlin, a lifelong resident of Westfield, has been involved in the family business, Shovlin Mattress Factory, his entire adult life. In addition to running Shovlin Mattress Factory, he has always been a very active member of the community. Ron is currently on the Executive Committee of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce. “A strong community that supports its local businesses is what this country was built on and I feel is what makes this area something special,” says Ron.
Now, Ron and his wife, Kara, run the family business together. Ron and Kara met at Westfield High School and have been together ever since. “Having my wife’s creative ideas when it comes to the marketing has really allowed me to work on the business and focus on product development.”
The two of them not only own Shovlin Mattress Factory, they also started a clothing line called “I Dare You." This is a clothing line designed to challenge and inspire people to go after the things they always wanted. They refer to the line as “challengewear," and it was born out of their love of sports and all things fitness. Ron was a successful athlete in high school and college and continues to utilize those skills by coaching his two young boys. “Being involved is the best way to give back. When you’re passionate about something it’s easy to get others excited.”
