The Mount to Perform A.R. Gurney’s Comedy “The Dining Room” Nov. 15 and 17

CALDWELL, NJ - Mount Saint Dominic Academy’s Theatre Arts Department will be presenting a full scale dramatic production of “The Dining Room.” Set in a single dining room, A.R. Gurney’s comedy overlaps and intertwines 18 scenes from different households exploring relationships and the almost lost customs of formality and tradition. The department will stage the performances at the Doris M. Byrne Performing Arts Center located on the high school’s campus at 3 Ryerson Avenue, Caldwell.

Mount St. Dominic strives to continue to build a theater arts program which both educates and entertains in front of and behind the curtain. Trained professionals help young women explore their talents in technical, practical and theoretical aspects of acting, set, lighting, sound and costume design. Their 2012-2013 productions have been recognized with nominations and honorable mentions by the Papermill Playhouse Rising Star Awards.
