CALDWELL, NJ - Patricia (Patti) Ann Tucker passed away at the age of 72 on Wednesday, Aug. 28, surrounded by her family. Funeral arrangements have been made through the Codey & Jones Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Tucker was born in Orange to Pauline Palcic Dankowski and Joseph Dankowski on April 19, 1941 and grew up in Cedar Grove and Bloomfield. She graduated from Bloomfield High School, attended Bloomfield College and most recently worked at West Essex Community Health Services. Before moving to Whiting ten years ago, Tucker resided in Caldwell and Verona.
"My mom was an energetic and sometimes crazy woman who refused to let a cancer diagnosis keep her from anything. She made it to my daughter's wedding in June (that's what the photo is from) and to my nephew's high school graduation," commented Patricia's daughter, MaryBeth Tucker Lentine. "We were all there holding her while she passed. As tragic as it was, it was also very beautiful...just like her."
Her family stated that Tucker loved animals as much as her own family and was partial to her “beloved cats.” She would care for stray animals she found while visiting Atlantic City, which she enjoyed doing often for the fun of playing on the slot machines with her special friend, James Wiggins.
Tucker was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her two sisters, Paula and Linda Dankowski. She is survived by:
MaryBeth Lentine and her husband Anthony of Caldwell
Sue Ellen Purcell and her husband John of Whiting
