Jeanna Dunleavy (Chatham, Jr.) nailed seven of eight free throws to help lead Connecticut College to a 57-50 victory over Hamilton in women's basketball action on Friday in New London, Conn. She also hit three of six field goal tries (one of two from I-95) to finish with a team-high 14 points. Eight rebounds also landed in her clutches. Teammate Kaitlyn Cresencia (New Providence, Fr.) picked up five rebounds and chipped in two points, shooting 1-for-2 from the field. The Camels are now 16-4 overall and 5-3 in the NESCAC.

Tracy Borsinger (Chatham, Jr.) was the go-to girl for Middlebury in Wednesday's 70-60 road win over Albany Pharmacy and Friday's 68-58 home loss to Bowdoin. She came off the bench to tally 18 points in the win, shooting 7-for-12 from the floor (1-for-3 from long range) and 3-for-3 from the foul line. Back in the starting lineup against Bowdoin, she put 15 points on the scoreboard, dropping six of 11 attempts through the hoop, including three of four from bonus territory. The Panthers are 6-14 overall and 0-7 in the NESCAC.

Facing a porous defense, Chenae Earle (South Orange, Jr.) could probably have cut herself in on the offensive spoils in Emmanuel College's 89-42 thrashing of Pine Manor College in Boston on Wednesday. Instead, she finished with just one point, but earned credit for six assists. The Saints are now 14-6 overall and 8-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference after the win.

Nine points from Lindsay Atchison (Green Village, Jr.) came in handy for King's College, 60-56 victors over Eastern in St. Davids, Pa. on Wednesday. Atchison knocked down four of 10 field goal attempts, including one of six from 3-point territory. The Lady Monarchs bring a 17-3 record (9-0 in the Freedom Conference) into Saturday's game against FDU-Florham Park, slated for a 1 pm start in Madison.

Caroline Murphy (Chatham, Soph.) scored 12 points and wrestled down five rebounds in a losing effort, as Gettysburg fell, 67-57, to Johns Hopkins at home on Wednesday. Murphy had a 4-for-7 game shooting from the field, and she drained all four of her free throws. Her stat line also features four assists and two steals. The Bullets dropped to 11-9 overall and 9-6 in the Centennial Conference.

MEN'S HOOPS

Russ Thompson (West Orange, Jr.) had dead aim on the basket, scoring 19 points to help Stevens Tech knock off Rutgers-Newark, 82-69, in Newark on Tuesday. Thompson sent eight of his nine field goal attempts from 3-point land, and knocked down five of those, as well as his sole 2-point try. He also drained both of his free throws.  Thompson maintained a hot hand on Friday as the Ducks defeated winless Elmira College, 71-60, in Hoboken. His 15 points came on 4-for-6 shooting from the floor (2-for-4 from the PATH station) and 5-for-6 from the foul line. Stevens is now 17-4 overall and 8-2 in the Empire 8 Conference.

Colgate’s Mike Venezia (Westfield, Sr.) had an enjoyable homecoming, scoring a team-high 15 points in the Red Raiders’ 76-73 win over NJIT in Newark on Wednesday. Sullivan nailed nine of 17 field goal attempts and converted both of his free throws. Four rebounds wound up in his clutches, as well. The Continentals are 13-8 overall and 2-5 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference after the victory.

A game-high 24 points from Joey Kizel (Short Hills, Soph.) couldn't prevent Middlebury from losing its first game of the season, 77-76, to Keene State on the latter's floor on Tuesday. Kizel didn't miss from either 3-point territory, where he launched four bombs, or at the foul line, where he threw in six free throws. Overall, he shot 7-for-11 from the floor and distributed four assists. The Panthers (19-1, 7-0 NESCAC), the top-ranked team in Division 3, got back in the win column on Friday with a 79-76 victory at home over Bowdoin. Kizel's 26 points again led the scoring parade. Eight of his 13 field goal attempts were good (three of six from 3-point territory), as were seven of his eight free throws.

Kevin Udo (West Orange, Soph.) led Bloomfield College with 11 rebounds in the Deacons’ 76-69 home win over Nyack College on Wednesday. Jordan Marcus (West Orange, Sr.) scored 11 points to help Ithaca College to an 81-59 rout of Nazareth in Rochester, N.Y. on Friday. Marcus, who was limited to 15 minutes of playing time due to four personal fouls, clicked on three of eight field goal attempts (two of six from deep) and all three of his free throws. Teammate Jordan Healey (Summit, Jr.) saw nine minutes on the floor and made one of two shots for two points. The Bombers are now 9-12 overall and 6-4 in the Empire 8.
