The College Report: Navy's Greenspan of Westfield Earns Laurels

Navy’s Joseph Greenspan (Westfield, Soph.) was named to the CollegeSoccerNews.com Team of the Week and was the Patriot League/BRINE Offensive Player of the Week for his contributions to victories over George Mason, 2-1, last Wednesday in double overtime and Lafayette, 4-2, on Saturday.
Greenspan, a Westfield High grad, assisted on both goals in the George Mason victory, and then booted three goals home against Lafayette. The Midshipmen then moved to 5-2-1 on the season with a 3-1 road win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday, in which Greenspan set up the first Navy goal. He currently has three goals and four assists this season.
Bucknell defeated Lehigh, 1-0, in Bethlehem, Pa. on Sunday, with Brendan Burgdorf (Westfield, Sr.) setting up that lone goal. The Bison are now 5-1-2.
Matt Fechter (Westfield, Sr.) scored a goal, his eighth of the season, as Colorado College defeated Southwestern, 4-0, last Friday in Georgetown, Tex. Fechter, a Pingry alum, also assisted on a goal for the Tigers (6-3).
Brian Petrunik (Chatham, Fr.) was in goal for Ramapo in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to William Paterson in Wayne. The Chatham High product stopped four shots. Ramapo is 5-4.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Eliza Gray (South Orange, Fr.) made seven saves in goal as Gettysburg enjoyed a 2-1 overtime victory on the road over Frostburg State on Wednesday. The Bullets improved to 6-2-0.
Corey Delaney (Chatham, Fr.) set up Dartmouth’s first goal in a 2-1 win over Brown in Hanover, N.H. on Sunday. The Big Green are now 6-2-0.
Martina Landeka (Westfield, Fr.) picked up an assist in Wednesday’s 7-0 thrashing of Rutgers-Newark in Montclair. The Red Hawks remain undefeated at 9-0-1.
FIELD HOCKEY
Taylor Siegrist (Madison, Sr.) scored twice, but Bucknell came out on the short end of a 5-4 verdict to Temple at home on Sunday. The tallies give the Madison High grad six goals for the season for the Bison (5-5).
Avery Koep (Madison, Jr.) recorded her third shutout of the season and her second in as many games as Franklin & Marshall defeated Messiah, 1-0, at home on Thursday. Koep, a Madison High product, made one save in the contest. On Saturday, the Diplomats (7-1) knocked off Ursinus, 3-0, as Koep stopped four shots.
Clare O'Malley (Summit, Jr.) answered an Appalachian State goal with one of her own just 17 seconds later, early in Saturday's game in Boone, N.C. Delaware later scored again for a 2-1 victory. The Blue Hens are now 4-7.
Dartmouth's Liz Blanken (Short Hills, Sr.) scored on a penalty stroke and assisted on another goal in the Big Green's 8-1 rout of Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. on Sunday. Dartmouth evened their season record at 4-4 with the triumph.
Christa Romano (Madison, Jr.) scored the winning goal in Quinnipiac's 3-2 victory over Brown in Hamden, Conn. on Wednesday. That was the second tally of the season for the Madison High grad. The Bobcats are now 6-4.
Chelsea Davies (Madison, Jr.) scored and assisted within a 6-minute span in Richmond's 5-2 win over Longwood at home on Saturday. The Madison High alum fed a teammate from the right side, 22 minutes into the contest, and then worked the ball into the goal from a few yards out on the left side, a little more than five minutes later. The Spiders carry on with a 5-3 record.
Molly Duffy (New Providence, Jr.) scored a goal, her 11th of the season, in MIT's 5-3 win over Endicott in Cambridge, Mass. on Thursday. Previously, MIT (8-2) defeated Clark, 6-1, at home on Saturday, with the Oak Knoll grad picking up assists on two goals.
Stevens Tech got a goal from Megan Traub (Berkeley Heights, Jr.) in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Christopher Newport in Alexandria, Va. The day before, the Ducks (6-4) defeated Ithaca, 4-3, in Hoboken. Julia Conroy (Westfield, Sr.) had the last of the Ithaca goals in that game. On Wednesday, the Westfield High product had the final Ithaca goal, but the ending was happier, as it produced a 3-2 Ithaca road win over Hartwick in overtime. Ithaca now sports a 5-4 season mark.
Sarah Cummings (Summit, Jr.) got credit for an assist as The College of New Jersey downed Ursinus, 2-0, in Ewing on Thursday. TCNJ hums along at 7-0.
A penalty shot by Caitlin Murray (Chatham, Jr.) was tipped in by a teammate in Colby's 8-0 romp over Thomas College in Waterville, Maine on Tuesday. Colby improved to 3-3.
Madison Finn (Short Hills, Fr.) earned credit for an assist in William Smith's 4-2 win over Nazareth in Pittsford, N.Y. on Wednesday. The Herons are flying along at 7-1.
