The Christ Child Society of Summit invites you to search for your new “treasure” among the many items available for sale that will include art, toys, children’s books, sporting goods, household items, small appliances, tools and Jewelry.  All proceeds from the sale will be used to help at risk children in Summit and surrounding communities. Please join us at Memorial Hall on Morris Ave in Summit (across from St. Teresa of Avila Church).

While the life of a child is a promise for the future, for many children today their future is at risk.  Christ Child Society volunteers reach out to teach, motivate, clothe and care for children in their communities through the initiative of Challenging Poverty:  One Child at a Time.  Founded in 1887 in Washington, D.C. by Mary Virginia Merrick, the Christ Child Society is a no-profit association of approximately 7,000 volunteers in 40 chapters throughout the country that are dedicated to the service of needy children.

The Summit Chapter of the Christ Child Society now includes over 65 local women that dedicate themselves to providing aid and supplies to at-risk children in Summit and neighboring towns referred to the organization through area social service agencies.  Summit Chapter members personally assemble and deliver layettes to newborns in need at local hospitals and run an annual school supplies drive that provides essential supplies for elementary, middle and high school children.  For more information contact www.christchildsumit.org
