CALDWELL, NJ - In preparation for the holiday, friends gathered together at the Caldwell Green to welcome Santa Claus to town, escorted by a parade of the borough’s decorated fire vehicles. Invited by the the West Caldwell-Caldwell Recreation Department, Santa arrived on a fire engine to the cheers of the many who were gathered and he soon led them in carols and a countdown to the tree lighting. Afterwards, many of those who had gathered then visited Santa inside the fire department where he posed for photos. The department served refreshments to their guests and sponsored a tricky tray with many prizes which all benefited the department’s education fund. The following evening, Santa returned and joined with families at the West Caldwell gazebo for their tree lighting and a get together afterwards in the Community Center.

Santa made his way to the stage and was introduced to the crowd by Elvis the Elf (a close friend of Polka Dot). With bells in hand, Santa called out to the crowd and together they sang Jingle Bells joined by Caldwell Mayor Ann Dassing.
