The Abandoned New Providence Greenhouses are More than an Eyesore

The abandoned New Providence greenhouses are more than an eyesore.
They are a Health Hazard.
They are a Safety Hazard.
A DANGER to children who play there - yes still today, after the buildings have been abandoned for more than 20 years, and fallen into dangerous, hazardous conditions children go there to play.
I moved to New Providence in November of last year. The trees were green and everything looked pretty and peaceful - until the leaves started to fall and the bare trees exposed the abandoned nursery buildings -- being more than surprised that the home I had bought was so close to something so horrible, I started to find out what it was, and why it was allowed to be there, presenting such a danger to the homes close by, and by close by I mean in our backyards.
Many people who live in New Providence longer than I, know that I am referring to the Nursery that was in operation there over 20 years ago. Since the owners abandoned it, also over 20 year ago, it has been allowed to just sit there, deteriorating and now presenting a Health and Safety Hazard. Obviously not the Town of New Providence, or the State County, or other Local Government entities have been able to address this matter. It is probably not an easy task, but seeing what is at stake here, now is the time to do something!
What you might ask can be done? I feel that the people of New Providence have to get together and take a stand -- to meet their Councilmen to make their voices heard. Yes, I am prepared to start a petition to show how serious this matter is. And that if nothing is done -how negatively it could effect people's life and the life of their children - who still go there to play and might hurt!
In the NP NEWS - Spring 2014, which I just received, it states that the Borough of New Providence is working with the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and it states, quote "to ensure that our waterways remain clean and safe." It might be appropriate to mention here that the NP Greenhouse has a cellar which often fills with water, and where does this water go? Does it seep into the creek, a waterway, which passes through this area?
If the site could be cleaned and grass would grow instead of mold and rot, wouldn't that change the environment and lives of all who live in New Providence and near by? And give the children a safe place to play?
So I hope that for the petition I will start, people who live in the area will support my effort.
