Thanks for Helping Make New Providence a Great Community

As I headed to work yesterday morning, droves of parents were crossing Springfield Avenue at the Maple Street light having just dropped off their children for the first day of school. I remember going through that experience many times in what seems like only yesterday. A few tears and some looks of trepidation, but mostly smiles were the order of the day. And for good reason as the kids were in competent hands for another school year and into the future. I was raised in New Providence and was the beneficiary of a wonderful school system with teachers, coaches and staff members who helped get me ready for a shot at college and then "life". My wife and I moved into New Providence to raise our family and are very fortunate to have had our kids grow up in New Providence. They used to ask me if I was sorry that I did not move to big city or another state so that there was more to experience. Now they ask me if they can buy the house when we are ready to sell. Quite a change in perspective.
Kudos to the Board of Education, Superintendent Miceli, Principal Casarico, teachers, administrators, coaches, staff, students and parents for all being part of what it takes to achieve the ranking of the No. 1 high school in New Jersey and to win a second straight ShopRite Cup as the most successful Group 1 athletic program! It was great to open New Jersey Monthly and see photographs of kids who we know and to read about the high school's success. The fruit of your collective efforts is well deserved and much appreciated.
Thanks for helping make New Providence a great community!
