Temple Sholom Welcomes New Cantor

Temple Sholom of Bridgewater is thrilled to welcome a new cantor to our congregation, the temple announced this week. Cantor Vadim Yucht has joined Temple Sholom as of Tuesday, July 1.

Born in Ukraine, Cantor Yucht received his M.A. from the Moscow Academy of Music and Culture. He became a cantor while living in Israel and later received an M.A. in Jewish Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Cantor Yucht is joining Temple Sholom after serving as cantor at the Morristown Jewish Center, where, aside from his traditional duties, he was known for his innovative and engaging programs, including a children’s choir and a congregational band.

“We are extremely pleased to be welcoming Cantor Vadim Yucht to our Temple family and look forward to spending many wonderful Shabbats and holidays with him,” says Ellen Teller, president of Temple Sholom.

“He brings wonderful musical talent and educational experience to our entire congregational community, adults and children alike," Teller continued. "We look forward to engaging musically with him in worship, and in our Preschool, Religious School and award-winning Hebrew High School, as well. He will be a marvelous addition to our synagogue.” 

Temple Sholom’s congregation invites the community to join them for dinner and Shabbat services to welcome Cantor Yucht and his wife, Dina, at 6:30 p.m. on July 11 at 6:30pm, followed by Likrat Shabbat services at 8 p.m.The cost of the dinner is $13 for adults and $8 for kids 10 and under. The maximum cost for a family is $54.
