Teen Tech Week at West Orange Public Library

WEST ORANGE, NJ - West Orange teens in grades 6-12 who are interested in learning how to create an animation, do photo manipulation and learn about coding are invited to join youth services librarian Lanora Melillo at the West Orange Public Library during the annual Teen Tech Week starting Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14.
Teens are encouraged to participate by registering for all or any of the three live events being offered during this week. On Monday, March 10 at 4:00pm, the library will hold a Scratch workshop. Scratch is a web based animation program that uses programming language to create music videos, games, animations and other projects.
On Wednesday, March 12 at 4:00pm, teens are invited to attend a workshop on Basic HTML. Teens will learn basic computer coding language to help them create their own website.
On Thursday, March 13, teens can attend a Photo Manipulation workshop where they will learn skills on how to remove backgrounds, add text, and other manipulation skills.
In addition to three live workshops, the library will also be posting technology tips within the Young Adult Department and on the library’s Facebook page throughout the week.
