Sussex County Medical and Sparta Medical merge to form Premier Health Associates

Sussex County, NJ — October 1, 2012 - Offering “the comfort of collaborative care,” Sussex County Medical Associates and Sparta Medical Associates are proud to announce the formation of Premier Health Associates. Premier Health Associates will combine the region’s two largest medical practices into the area’s most comprehensive medical group.
In addition to an excellent primary care network that includes pediatrics, Premier Health Associates now offers patients seamless access to highly trained specialists in the areas of cardiology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, endocrinology, pulmonology, general and colorectal surgery, sleep medicine, pain management, geriatrics, occupational medicine, podiatry, chiropractic care and physical medicine and rehabilitation. The group’s specialty offerings are comprehensive; this ensures patients of all ages have access to the individualized care they need though the Premier Health Associates network of providers.
Convenience is a key component of the Premier Health Associates experience, with a smooth referral and appointment process, plus common insurance and billing practices. Within Premier, physicians will be able to quickly access medical records, having the most current treatment, medication, and lab tests at hand. “All their care will be under one umbrella. It will make it easier for the patients, going from their primary care doctor, to a specialist, and back to their primary care doctor again. It will be a smooth experience,” said Richard Vaz, DO, Internist and Vice President of Premier Health Associates.
While the name and signage will change, the differences for patients are all positive: increased access to over 30 primary care physicians, plus specialists and multiple office locations. “Patients can absolutely see their same doctors, located in the same offices. Nothing has to change for them,” said Dr. Vaz. “But our patients will now have access to even more physicians, locations and services. Our community now has a true multi-specialty group that can care for the whole family throughout their lives.”
The formation of Premier Health Associates means that the group will care for patients in Sussex and Warren counties in New Jersey, as well as Pike County in Pennsylvania. “With the merger, we’ll have offices throughout the region, so that current and new patients can be seen quickly, efficiently and without far to travel,” said David Bollard, DO, Family Practitioner and President of Premier Health Associates. “Sussex County Medical Associates and Sparta Medical Associates are two medical groups that people in this area know and trust.
