Sussex County Community College Inducts 115 Students to Phi Theta Kappa

NEWTON, NJ - An induction ceremony was held on Friday, January 25th to honor 115 Sussex County Community College (SCCC) students as new members of the honor society, Phi Theta Kappa.
To be eligible for membership, students must be enrolled in a regionally accredited community college offering an associate degree program; have completed at least 12 hours of coursework applied to an associate degree; have a GPA of 3.5; and must receive an invitation to membership from the chapter at the college where presently enrolled and adhere to the moral standards of the society. The new inductees were led by SCCC Transfer Counselor, Lisa Moorman alongside the Phi Theta Kappa chapter officers, President Derya Demirtas, Vice President Amanda Kirchoff, Secretary Anna Plavnicky and Treasurer Chelsea Sullivan.
College President Dr. Paul Mazur presented the honor stoles, Judge Lorraine Parker, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees presented the Phi Theta Kappa Rose and Harold Damato, Senior Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs presented the Certificates
