Suspect Identified in 2012 Shooting in 4th Ward

PATERSON, NJ – City police have charged a 19-year-old Paterson man with attempted murder in a shooting that happened in the 4th Ward last September.
Authorities say Javon Perry was the gunman who wounded a woman while she was leaving a house party on Montgomery Street on Sat., Sept. 29 at about 5 am. The woman told police she heard the shots and fled, and later realized she was grazed in the chest by oe of the bullets, according to authorities.
The woman apparently was not the target of the shooting, police said. As the party was breaking up, a fight started and Perry apparently fired the shots outside the house at someoe else, according to Lt. Patrick Murray.
An investigation by Detectives Carlos Charon and Rick Ferreira from the Paterson Police Department’s Cease-Fire unit identified Perry as the suspect.
