CHATHAM, NJ - Rebecca Wolfe, a 41-year-old resident of Summit, has been charged with theft after a security tape implicated her in an incident at the Powerflow Yoga studio on Main Street.

On May 30, Patrolman Andrew Pereira investigated a theft of money from a purse at the Powerflow Yoga studio. A member reported that while she was at the studio the previous day, someone took approximately $50 in cash from her purse while she was attending a class.

The owner reviewed the video from the cameras inside the business, which showed a woman rifling through purses while the class was in session.

The owner was able to identify the suspect, but she denied taking the money. At that point the owner contacted the police. Patrolman Pereira contacted the suspect. Wolfe responded to headquarters where she was interviewed and eventually charged with theft. Wolfe was processed and released pending further municipal court action.

Report prepared by Kevin O'Shea of the Chatham Borough Police Department
