ANDOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ - More than 200 attendees gathered on Friday night in support of Sussex County Sheriff Michael Strada, to attend the Re-Elect Sheriff Strada Campaign Kickoff.

The theme for the kickoff event was a beefsteak, and was held at The Barn in Andover Township's Hillside Park.

The guests partook in the beefsteak celebration, catered by The Brownstone of Paterson, N.J. Guests had the opportunity to mingle for about the first hour of the event before the food was served, while listening to music played by KDK Entertainment, and then they enjoyed more socializing and music during and after the meal.

The master of ceremonies for the event was Glen Vetrano. Vetrano introduced New Jersey State Senator Steve Oroho (R-24), who had words of praise about Strada.

"Before he was in office, he told us what he was going to do," said Oroho. "It was very simple, he just did it."

Oroho named some of Strada's achievements during his time in office so far, including the inmate work program, and the bracelet program for low-offending inmates.

When it was Strada's turn to take the microphone, he gave grateful thanks to his supporters, and family, including his wife, Kim, and his mother.

"We started in 2007, and there have been a lot of familiar faces who have been here since the beginning," he said of his term in office, and about those supporters who have been by his side, as he campaigned for sheriff the first time.

He also thanked all of his fellow officers at the Sussex County Sheriff's Office, introducing two who were present at the event, undersheriff Homer Wanamaker, and investigator Lee Liddy.

"I owe a lot to these guys, thanks for being here tonight," he said to Wanamaker and Liddy.

Strada concluded his speech by stating, "We're doing good things in Sussex County. We'll continue to do good things in Sussex County. We need your support."
