Summit’s Muni to Host Golf at Night!

Summit’s Municipal Golf Course, known affectionately as the “Muni” is celebrating its 45th Anniversary with a weekend of activities at the course located at 189 River Road. The weekend of October 26-28th has a variety of special events in recognition of this great occasion. The most exciting of these anniversary events is “ A Night at the Muni” on Sunday, October 28th from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
The event begins with the 45th Anniversary Ceremony and Presentations and a Fall Harvest themed reception. Five holes of golf will be played by foursomes using lighted balls, cup holes and flags. Each player will received a souvenir T-shirt and the glow in the dark items they need to play. Golfers are asked to bring along a flashlight .The cost of the event is $25 per person and is open to Summit Residents and Members and the Muni and their guests. Youth golfers ages 13 and older are welcome to play. Golfers ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants will enjoy refreshments, souvenirs and bragging rights! Friends and family of the night golfers are welcome to come and watch from the Clubhouse. Everyone is asked to bring a flashlight. If you have day glow clothing, wear it. The most colorful golfer wins a prize. Muni Pro Bill McCluney will be on hand for the “Put Against the Pro” putting contest.
The proceeds from this event will go to the Senior Connections, LLC a non- profit organization that operates the Summit Senior Bus Service. Register immediately as only 50 lucky golfers will be able to participate. The event kicks off at 5:00 PM with a 45th Anniversary Ceremony and Special Presentations.
The entire Anniversary Weekend has events scheduled especially for Summit Muni Members and their guests including a “Youth Golf Celebration on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM. Youth Members will get their pictures taken with McMuni, the course Mascot. There will be prizes and refreshments for the kids. Pro Bill McCluney will offer a Putting Clinic for those attending. On Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, golfers will enjoy a “Fall Harvest Reception”. Members who play that day will enjoy a special harvest of donuts and fresh apple cider. There will be some cool giveaways, too.
