Summit Summies Conclude Successful Year with Sold-Out Exhibition Shows

SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Summies finished their season at the state championships, where the Bronze Team took home the title, the Copper Team came in third place, and the Gold and Silver Teams earned fifth- and sixth-places, respectively, for their levels. In addition, The Summies brought home three All-Around State Champion winners, and 12 Event Champion winners across all competing levels. 

The Summit Summies is a competitive gymnastics team whose mission is to build well-rounded gymnasts. The Summies compete locally, regionally, and nationally under the United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs program.

Twelve Members of the team continued on to USAIGC World Championships in Palm Springs, Calif., where the Gold Team finished seventh, and the Bronze Team finished eighth.  The girls brought home individual victories as well, with Caroline Griffith winning the gold medal on beam; Alysia Lopez took the silver on vault, and Kiera Little brought home the silver medal on floor, as well as the bronze on beam.

To conclude their year, The Summies tumbled, twirled and flipped in their annual exhibition at The Connection.  In this year’s theme, “I Love the 90’s”, The Summies performed to their favorite 90’s hits in three sold-out shows. 

“I am so proud of all the girls and their dedication to the team." said Co-Youth and Gymnastics Program Director,Tracy Burkholder.  “They really had a blast showing off their hard work to their family and friends in a non-competitive environment”.
