Summit Police Interrupt Burglary, Recover Items Stolen From Five Local Businesses

SUMMIT, NJ - Police interrupted a burglary on Springfield Avenue and in the process, recovered cash and goods previously stolen from five other local businesses.

According to police, shortly before 4 a.m. on July 2, they received a report of forced entry and burglary at five connected businesses on Springfield Avenue, including a dog grooming salon, two restaurants, a florist and a tailor. No one was found at the scene when police arrived.

The store owners reported various missing items, including a laptop computer and credits cards, as well as cash.

A short time later, police interrupted another theft in progress nearby, and at that time discovered all the reported stolen items discarded a short distance away.
