SUMMIT, NJ - Jarrett Ross scored four goals, and Sam Bebout made seven saves, as the Summit High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team traveled to Connecticut and defeated highly-ranked Ridgefield, 9-2.

Summit, currently rated fourth in New Jersey by laxpower.com, thoroughly controlled Ridgefield, ranked third in Connecticut by the same entity, winning the ground ball, face-off, and possession battle, en route to improving their record to 14-1 on the season.

John Cordrey opened the scoring three minutes in, taking a feed from Max Graeb to make it 1-0 Hilltoppers.  After Ridgefield equalized, Cordrey scored on a bounce shot with eight seconds left in the quarter to give Summit a lead they would never relinquish.

Four goals were scored in the second quarter, all by the Hilltoppers.  Ross got his first of the game, rebounding his own shot.  Graeb fed James Strabley and it was 4-1.  Ross, and then Chris Zanelli, hit the target and Summit had a commanding 6-1 lead at the half.

After Ridgefield scored a man-up goal to make the score 6-2, Summit once again hit the gas to put the game away.

Strabley fed Fischetti, and Graeb -- who had three assists in the game -- found Ross for his Hat Trick goal and it was 8-2 after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, Ross got his fourth of the game, making the long ride home seem relatively short.  Hilltopper FOGO Brian Hadley, returning from a one-game absence due to injury, was 9-14  at "the X", and defender Andrew Helmer has another stellar effort, creating several turnovers by dispossessing his man and then immediately triggering the transition to offense.

Summit enters the Union County Tournament as the number-one seed, and will face New Providence in the semi-finals May 8 at AL Johnson High School.  Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
