SUMMIT, NJ - Summit High School Wrestlers distinguished themselves at the NJSIAA District 10 tournament, with the team taking fourth place overall, and five individuals placing in the the top three.
Phil Angelo led the way as Champion, with Mike Acitelli and Tanner Thomas taking home second-place finishes, and Colm Dougherty and Nick Testa earning third place honors. The Hilltoppers will send five wrestlers to the NJSIAA Region 3 tournament.
In all, it has been an outstanding year for SHS Wrestling under the guidance of Coach Anthony Ferrante. The team completed their regular season with a final record of 14-12, the first winning season since the reinstatement of the program four years ago. The five wrestlers heading to the region tournament is also a high mark since reinstatement.
