NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – This is the heart of the summer season in the world of jewelry.

The team at Braunschweiger Jewelers, led by President Kristy Braunschweiger Smith, has been at the forefront of fine jewelry since opening its doors as a watch repair shop in 1931.

Braunschweiger’s remains a trend-setter 83 years later, offering popular designs from Marco Bicego, Michele, Raymond Weil and other leading jewelry designers.

Braunschweiger Smith said with the summer comes new trends for everyone to enjoy, including the “can’t miss” delicate 14k yellow gold necklaces and bracelets.

“Gold is back in a big way,” she said. “Gold and diamond bar necklaces with or without personalization or monogramming…[Also] stackable rings [that you] can change around every day for a different look. Pastels and bright colors -- think Easter egg colors -- especially blues – cobalt, turquoise – are extremely popular.”

Outside of their widely popular trio of designers, Braunschweiger’s is in the process of bringing on new jewelers in the coming months.

Braunschweiger’s recently harkened back to its 1930s roots, when the store was called “Market Watch Repair,” by adding Raymond Weil men’s watches.

In the coming months, the company will be adding new-age lines, as well.

Doves and Ugo Cala will both feature a collection of 18 karat gold, diamond and precious gemstones.

Thistle & Bee brings a new collection of sterling silver jewelry and gifts, including charm bracelets and silver shells.

“Thistle & Bee’s clean, unique and elegantly executed designs range from bold statement pieces to simple everyday styles,” Braunschweiger Smith said.

With stores located in New Providence and Morristown, there are plenty of pieces and events to see.

The New Providence site will be holding its annual estate sale in November, with the holiday event coming to both stores in December. Braunschweiger’s offers frequent deals on its state-of-the-art pieces, as well as contests and giveaways on all of its social media platforms.

Both stores are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday, with an 8:30 p.m. closing on Thursday.
