MILLBURN, NJ- Many retail stores want a quick buck and people in and out like a product line, but Suki’s: The Children’s Boutique in Millburn is all about service and its customers.

For many years, Suki’s has been helping parents dress their kids in the Millburn area. The store sells children’s clothing for boys and girls, furniture, toys, strollers, cribs and car seats.

In 2005, Todd and Gali Rivkees' purchased the store and they have loved being owners, Todd said. Todd was in the garment business in New York City and ran child wear companies and his wife was an artist who used to design children’s clothing fabric prints. Since ownership changed hands, the Rivkee’s have upgraded the store.

“We found out what the customer wants,” Todd said. “You need to know what the customer wants.”

Gali said she takes her fashion style and incorporates it into the store. As a mother and someone who knows people in the community, she uses her intuition when shopping for clothes for the store.  More importantly,   she checks for feel and style, but if it doesn’t feel right, she doesn’t buy it.

“We spoil our children with good fabrications,” she said.

Unlike large chain stores, people don’t get frustrated when shopping at Suki’s, Todd said. In their time as owners, they have formed unique bonds with their customers and know them well, he said.

They have also been recognized as one of “the coolest kid’s boutiques in the country” in children’s clothing store publications. Because of their great relationships with people, they also deliver to homes of customers.

“We have a loyal loyal following,” he said. “We aren’t a cookie cutter store.”

One of those regular shoppers, Amanda Stein was at the store perusing for some clothes for her two youngsters. Stein couldn’t stop praising Suki’s and the Rivkees.

“We shop here because the stuff is amazing,” Stein said. “More importantly Todd and Gali are extra amazing.”
