Fingerprints on File, a voluntary program for children in grades kindergarten through eight, will take place in the New Providence School District on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Sponsored by the Union County Sheriff’s Office, this service is available to students who are new to the district or who have never been fingerprinted. Preschoolers, accompanied by a parent or guardian, are invited to participate at either Allen W. Roberts or Salt Brook Elementary School.
The Sheriff’s Office will fingerprint eligible students at Allen W. Roberts at 9:30 a.m.and at Salt Brook School School at 1:00 p.m. Eligible kindergarten students will be fingerprinted in both morning and afternoon sessions at both elementary schools. Any middle school student can be printed at either elementary school during the times provided. Fingerprint cards are provided by the Sheriff’s office and are provided from your child’s school. Children who are participating must have the card signed by a parent or guardian at the time of fingerprinting. After fingerprinting, the fingerprints will be placed on the back of the fingerprint cards and will be sent home with the students. No record of any kind will be kept. Fingerprinting cards can be obtained from the main office at either Allen W. Roberts Elementary School or Salt Brook School.
