Stafford Communications Holds Day-Long Celebration to Raise Money for Breast Cancer

Pink Pajama Party held at local business where all proceeds benefit the fight against Breast Cancer

Stafford Communications, a New Providence- based customer service consulting company, took part in the breast cancer awareness program called “Sleep Pink” on October 23rd. Sleep Pink is a national movement of pink pajama parties where women and men can promote awareness and celebrate breast cancer survivors.

In support of the program, Stafford’s employees wore pink pajamas and then submitted a group photo to the Estroven Facebook Page. In exchange, Stafford Communications and the makers of Estroven will each donate $250 to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. In addition, staff were photographed in their pajamas throughout the day and for every photo submission of an individual in pink pajamas, Estroven will donate $100 to benefit the organization.

“Stafford Communications has many families and friends who have been affected by this disease,” states President CJ Stafford. “Personally, I lost a very dear friend to breast cancer and try to honor her memory by participating in programs that will help raise money for cancer research.  It is sad to think that literally everyone knows someone with cancer. So, through our relationship with our client, i-Health, makers of Estroven, we are thrilled to be a part of such a positive movement of people helping find the cure. With our office participation, we know we can help make a difference.  We hope that other companies will follow our lead and have their own Pink Pajama Party to benefit such a valuable cause.”

During the day-long celebration, Stafford presented their employees with pink robes embroidered with the pink ribbon.  A portion of the proceeds from these robes is donated to breast cancer research. In addition, they purchased pink and white bracelets, made by an employee’s child who wanted to raise money for breast cancer.  “Even the men wore pink robes and bracelets to show their support,” states Stafford. “It was a fun day and represents what our Company is all about; commitment, loyalty and, of course, fun!”  In addition to the robes, there was pink drinks and food, and Stafford utilized their “pink room” in honor of celebrating all things pink.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is not too late to sleep pink. To find out more information about how to host a Sleep Pink pajama party and raise money and awareness for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, visit www.sleeppink.com.
