St. Joseph’s Hospital Reaches Deal With Aetna

PATERSON, NJ - Patients with Aetna health insurance will continue to have full access to in-network medical care at St. Joseph’s Healthcare System, officials announced.

St. Joseph's issued a press release saying it "completed mutually agreeable contract negotiations for the HMO and PPO products" with Aetna Health, Inc..

As a result, Aetna members will continue to receive full access at St. Joseph’s facilities, including the hospitals in Paterson and Wayne and outpatient centers across northern New Jersey.

“Both St. Joseph’s and Aetna were very interested in reaching a fair agreement, regardless of the challenges. This new contract preserves the longstanding positive working relationship between both organizations,” said William A. McDonald, President and Chief Executive Officer, St. Joseph’s Healthcare System, in the press release.

“St. Joseph’s and our affiliated physicians look forward to working with Aetna in the coming years.  We are grateful to the Aetna negotiations team, our community, our physicians, and staff for demonstrating sustained commitment to healthcare excellence,” added Mr. McDonald.
