St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and School Announces
the Rev. Dr. Thomas Haverly as Priest-in-Charge

New Providence, New Jersey (January 14, 2013) – St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and School, located at 419 South Street,  is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Dr. Thomas Haverly as Priest-in-Charge.  Fr. Tom, as he likes to be called, celebrated his first service at St. Andrew’s at the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6, 2013. Fr. Tom is experienced in preaching, membership development, liturgical worship and parish life, as well as pastoral care and adult/youth formation.

Fr. Tom comes to New Providence after serving as interim rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Prior to his tenure in Wisconsin, Fr. Tom was interim rector at Church of our Savior in Elmhurst, Illinois and Messiah-St. Bartholomew in Chicago. Fr. Tom has also served as Priest-in-Charge at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Stafford, New York. He also has experience as a professor of religion in Chicago and Kansas City, Missouri. 

He is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene College and holds a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Fr. Tom was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 1996. He holds a Master of Library Science from Syracuse University and a PhD in New Testament Studies from Edinburgh University, Scotland.
