SPARTA, NJ - The Sparta Education Foundation is participating in a Tickets Fore Charity fundraiser in partnership with the upcoming PGA Tour in New Jersey. Golf enthusiasts who plan on attending The Barclays PGA Tour from Aug. 19-24 at the Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus can purchase their tickets to that event and support the SEF at the same time.

When purchasing tickets at www.BuyTFC.com, 75 percent of the net proceeds of ticket purchases will be donated by the PGA Tour to the SEF when you enter the code SLICE14. A good-on-any-one-day ticket is $65 and the weekly grounds ticket is $125. Children under 18 are free when accompanied by an adult, making this an affordable family event. The last day to purchase these tickets online and donate part of the proceeds to the Sparta Education Foundation is Aug. 17.

“The Sparta Education Foundation is proud to be partnering with the PGA Tour and their Tickets Fore Charity fundraiser,” said Dorothy LaBeau, president of the Sparta Education Foundation.  “This is an easy way for our supporters to donate to the SEF while they enjoy being a spectator at this exciting golf tour. We invite the community to visit the BuyTFC.com website and click on The Barclays where they can enter the SLICE14 code. This will ensure that part of their ticket price comes right back to the Sparta school district. We are thrilled to be involved with this program. It’s really a win-win situation.”  Tickets to The Barclays can also be ordered online at the Sparta Education Foundation website by visiting www.spartaeducationfoundation.org/fundraising.htm?Tickets-fore-Charity-15

Recently the Foundation funded two new grand pianos and a variety of photography studio equipment at Sparta High School and over 10,000 books to create a lending library in every elementary school classroom.  The foundation’s biggest fundraiser is the Turkey Trot held in Lake Mohawk on Thanksgiving morning.

The Sparta Education Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 in grants to all five of Sparta’s public schools since 2007.  The Foundation is an independent non-profit organization whose mission is to engage the entire community in philanthropic giving that strengthens the public schools, supports teachers, and inspires students.  For more information visit spartaeducationfoundation.org
