SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The National Weather Service in Mount Holly New Jersey has issued a winter storm warning for all of Middlesex County and South Plainfield from 10:00am Tuesday 1/21/14 to 6:00am Wednesday 1/22/14.

Snow is expected to overspread the area in the late morning hours.  Total snow accumulations are expected to range from 8-12 inches of snow.

The heaviest snow fall is expected to fall in the late afternoon on Tuesday into early Tuesday evening.  Snow fall rates of an inch per hour are expected.

South Plainfield Mayor Matthew P. Anesh said “Superintendant Capparelli and the South Plainfield Department of Public Works are prepared for the storm like always, but we ask that residents get their vehicles off the road so crews can make the roads as wide as possible.”

Temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day, and northeast winds are expected to average between 15 – 25 miles per hour.  Blowing and drifting snow are expected to add to the hazardous conditions on Tuesday night into Wednesday.
