South Plainfield Labor day Parade to be a “Winter Wonderland”
Saturday, July 26, 2014 • 3:00am
The South Plainfield Public Celebrations Committee will present the 57th Labor Day Parade on September 1, 2014. The Labor Day Parade theme will be "Winter Wonderland" due to the extensive snow fall in 2013/2014. This year the Celebration Committee will offer a prize and trophy for the best float depicting the "Winter Wonderland" theme. The South Plainfield Alternative Press (TAP into South Plainfield) has offered to donate $300.00 on behalf of the South Plainfield Public Celebration Committee for the Labor Day Parade 2014 float that best depicts the Labor Day Theme, "Winter Wonderland". This is the first time a prize will be given to the best theme float. The Public Celebration Committee has made an effort in recent years to encourage more community participation with floats. Floats have always been a critical part of what has made the South Plainfield Labor Day Parade so special. TAP into South Plainfield is South Plainfield’s only daily newspaper. Darlene Cullen, Editor and Publisher of TAP into South Plainfield is proud and honored to be the sponsor of this award.
The parade judges will be stationed at the reviewing stand on the corner of Plainfield Avenue and Lake Avenue in front of the Middle School.
