South Orange Symphony Features Rutgers Pianist Rebecca Choi and Summit Conductor Susan Haig

Join music lovers a a free Orchestral Concert featuring Mendelssohn's Scottish Symphony, Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Overture, Weber's Konzertstuck on Sunday March 3, 3 pm; pre-concert talk at 2:30* at Sterling Hall, South Orange Middle School, 70 N. Ridgewood Rd., South Orange

 For listeners of all ages; families and younger children welcome!

*The 3 pm concert is preceded by a silent auction at 2 pm, and a Conductor Conversation with Susan Haig at 2:30. A "meet-the-musicians" reception follows the concert.

Pianist Rebecca Choi of Ann Arbor, Michigan, received her Masters' from Juilliard and is a DMA candidate at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers. Orchestra and opera conductor Susan Haig has conducted performances in Canada and the US, and held conducting posts with orchestras in Tampa/ St. Pete, South Dakota, Windsor (ON), and Calgary (AB).

The South Orange Symphony comprises 50 volunteer musicians representing fields including IT, accounting, public education, medicine, law and music. Founded in 1949 by the Educational Committee of the First Presbyterian and Trinity Church of South Orange, the group performs 3 to 4 free concerts each season, and runs an annual Artist Competition for performers 18 and older. Enjoy this remarkable ensemble!
