South Orange Police Arrest 3 on Trespassing Charges

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Three people were charged with trespassing after being discovered in or near vacant homes.
Keontrae Lawrence and Tymill McClean, both 25, of East Orange, were arrested when they were found on the property of a vacant Meeker Street residence shortly after 5 p.m. on May 28. Both were apprehended without incident.
Yusef McGaskiee, 32, of Newark, was taken into custody after he was spotted inside a vacant Sinclair Terrace house at about 9:50 p.m. on May 25. He was apprehended at the scene without incident.
Police also arrested a 17-year-old Jersey City resident who is a suspect in a strong-arm robbery of a woman on Irvington Avenue that occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on May 26. Officers received several calls of the minor fleeing on foot through residential properties and apprehended her as she was leaving the backyard of a Tichenor Avenue residence.
Police said she had the victim’s cell phone and pocketbook.
In other police news:
An Overhill Road resident reported that she witnessed someone fleeing from her Range Rover, which was parked in her driveway, shortly before midnight on May 26. The suspect, described as a black male with dreadlocks, ran to a black BMW and fled west on Overhill Road. A search of the area gave no results.
A juvenile stated that someone stole his cell phone while he briefly left it unattended to play basketball at the community center courts at about 6:20 p.m. on May 26.
A West Orange resident told police that someone stole his bicycle from the bike rack at the train station sometime between 10:45 a.m. on May 24 and 11:50 p.m. on May 25.
Terry Kennedy, 45, of Newark, was arrested after he was found to be concealing unpaid-for merchandise at Rite Aid at approximately 11:30 a.m. on May 28. The items were valued at $137. Kennedy was apprehended at the scene and arrested without incident.
- Sean Pezza, 21, of New York, was arrested when police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment complex on South Orange Avenue at about 10:20 p.m. on May 28. During the investigation, Pezza was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested without incident.
