SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- The South Orange Halloween Festival has been rescheduled for Friday from 4-6 p.m., with trick-or-treating to follow at participating downtown businesses.
Matt Glass, chairman of the board of directors for the South Orange Village Center Alliance, said the festivities at Spiotta Park were moved from their original Wednesday date.
Village officials have announced that no trick-or-treating should take place in the neighborhoods on Halloween.
"Residential neighborhoods still have significant power line and tree hazards in addition to large amounts of debris in the road and on the sidewalks," the announcement on the village website reads. "Gusts of winds can knock branches or wires down that are still hanging in the air."
