MILLBURN, NJ -South Mountain School began their 10th annual reading incentive program on Thursday, January 30, with a 20 minute school “read-in” and an Olympic torch relay.

Their theme this year was “SMS Reading Olympics” which coincided with the Winter Olympics in Russia. The hallways of SMS were decorated with Winter Olympic sports and flags of participating countries.

The reading incentive program asked students to read (or to be read too) at least 20 minutes daily, for a total of 15 days. Their goal is to read 140,000 minutes, an ambitious increase over last years goal.
