So Far, Just One Candidate Has Filed School Board Petitions

PATERSON, NJ - With less than a week to go before the filing deadline, just one candidate has submitted petitions to run for the Board of Education. That's Alveria Spencer.
Others said they plan to run, including incumbents Alex Mendez and Kenneth Simmons, as well as former GOP Assembly candidate William Connolly.
School board President Christopher Irving, whose seat is up for election this spring, has said recently that he was still trying to make up his mond whether to run.
The deadline for school board candidates to file petitions is 4 pm on Mon., Feb. 25.
