SCOTCH PLAINS/FANOOD, NJ -- Perhaps Old Man Winter 2014 has been watching "The Walking Dead" because he just doesn't seem to die. Even after temperatures climbed above 70 on both Sunday and Monday, snow returned to Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Tuesday evening. With the mercury dipping into the 30s, temperatures dropped 50 degrees in little more than 24 hours. Children -- who just this weekend played baseball in short sleeve t-shirts -- were back in winter coats on Tuesday night.
Forecasters are predicting two evenings of sub-40 temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday evenings before warm weather returns for Easter weekend.
