WESTFIELD, NJ – It looks like it's official: Whitney Houston will be buried in Westfield.  Rumors abound as to whether Houston will be buried on Saturday or on Sunday.

After much speculation over the past 24 hours about the singer’s final resting place, the announcement has been made that burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Houston’s father, John, was buried there in 2003.

The troubled pop star’s official death certificate confirms the burial place.

The funeral will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark on Saturday, Carolyn Wigham, the owner of the Wigham Funeral Home, told reporters. New Hope is the church Houston attended in her youth and honed her voice as a member of the choir.

Services and burial are invitation-only and private, and security will be tight as celebrities including the singer’s ex-husband, Bobby Brown; her godmother, Aretha Franklin; and Rev. Jesse Jackson, are expected to attend. Local officials urge fans to stay away.

Speculation continues as to whether Houston will be buried on Saturday or on Sunday.  The Westfield Police Department, Wigham Funeral Home and Fairview Cemetery are tight-lipped.
