PATERSON, NJ - A city teacher with more than 20 years experience has been suspended with pay from his job at Silk City Academy.

The Board of Education's personnel report says Richard Vincenti's suspension took effect near the end of January.

District spokeswoman Terry Corallo declined to provide an explanation for the suspension, saying it was a personnel matter.

Peter Tirri, president of the union that represents city teachers, declined to discuss the case until after he could review the file. Tirri said the union, the Paterson Education Association, has agreed to provide Vincenti with a legal representation.
