FANWOOD, NJ - More than 100 people turned out for the Shady Lane block party in Fanwood on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Closing off Shady Lane between Winfield Place and Martine Avenue, residents and their children filled the street to play games, ride bikes and eat diverse foods. Brian Walter, owner of Oh'Brian's Pourhouse Irish pub in Fanwood, brought a roasted whole pig, which he carved on site. The Fanwood Rescue Squad brought an ambulance for the kids to play on. Parents supervised games, including an egg toss, bobbing for donuts and a water-balloon fight.
