CALDWELL, NJ - Rehearsals began Feb. 12 for seven Grover Cleveland Middle School students who were accepted into the North Jersey School Music Association (NJMSA) Junior High School Region I Chorus. Students face an arduous rehearsal schedule of four to seven hour practices while meeting on only five different days.  The Region I Chorus will ultimately perform on Sunday, Mar. 3, at a 3pm Concert at Parsippany Hills High School

Mr. Scott Chamberlain, Supervisor of Music for the Caldwell-West Caldwell School District, announced that on Feb. 2, the seven students auditioned with hundreds of performers from the seven northern NJ counties. Performers had to demonstrate a variety of vocal skills, including diatonic major scales and had to perform a memorized solo. Those with the highest scores were accepted into the regional group.

The following seventh grade students will be participating in the chorus under the guidance of chorus director Deana Larsen:

  • Ken Axe
  • Ashvin Nagarajin
  • Brian Reilly
  • Jordan Whiting

The following eighth grade students will be participating in the chorus:

  • Isabella Bellomo
  • Meredith Donlin
  • Jennifer Garamella
