SETON HALL UNIVERSITY CONTINUING EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL STUDIES DIVISION ANNOUNCES SPRING SERIES FOR PROFESSIONALS

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ (January 9, 2013) — Seton Hall University (www.shu.edu), one of the country’s leading Catholic universities, announced its Spring Series for Professionals today, a collection of professional studies programs offered through its Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies. Courses provide savvy and determined professionals the opportunity to learn what works -- tried and true skills that they can put to use immediately to apply for a new position, advance in the position that they have, or be more effective in their job.
“In this difficult job environment, people need to constantly update their knowledge and skills to remain competitive,” notes Dr. Nancy Low-Hogan, Dean of Continuing Education and Professional Studies. “Seton Hall’s Spring Series for Professionals has been specially designed to support people who want greater job satisfaction, to contribute at a higher level, and want to be the best that they can be. We focus on sharing best practices and proven techniques that give people confidence that they know what works in a variety of situations.”
Communications skills are emphasized in 2013’s Spring Professional Series, with opportunities to learn what works in the social media space, in negotiating, leadership and grammar. Courses begin on March 5 and continue through April 20.

Critical Negotiating Skills for Women: Capitalizing on Your Unique Strengths, which helps women recognize and maximize their individual negotiating style with the “3 C’s”: Convince, Collaborate, and Create. Harvard Law School graduate and acclaimed author Lee E. Miller provides tools for success in everyday negotiations.
Social Media for Professionals: Unlimited Potential teaches simple techniques to leverage vast, interconnected web communities and harness the power of social media for marketing, communications, and branding – personally and professionally.
Grammar Workshop for Professionals transforms complicated (and common!) grammar problems into clear, comprehensible writing solutions.
Strategic Influencing for Leaders: Powerful Tools to Gain Support for Your Proposals delivers a systematic, multi-pronged approach to better leadership in a wide variety of contexts.
The University also offers Summer Sessions for High School students as well as a variety of lectures, seminars, workshops and courses online and in-person to share the world-class talents of its university professors with local and national communities.
