SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- Two Seton Hall female students reported an attempted robbery around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to a Pirate Alert email issued by the university.

The students told authorities they were walking on South Orange Avenue near Fairlawn Avenue when two women got out of an older model Toyota and attempted to steal a cell phone from one of the students. The victim refused to give up the phone, and the two returned to their vehicle and fled toward Newark.

No weapons were involved.
