Senior Connections is a Group Volunteer Effort

We appreciate your coverage of the Senior Connections Bus. We are anxious to make everyone aware of the free service that can provide seniors in Summit with a way to accomplish personal tasks and become more involved in their community. We hope information in the article will inspire more people to call for a pick-up.
While it may have been beyond the scope of the original article, it is important to recognize that many people work to assure that the bus continues in operation. Judith Leblein Josephs, Director of Community Programs, dedicated herself to the reorganization of the operation and dealt valiantly with the many complications that arose. Without her efforts, the service would not have survived. Gretchen Masterfano, of the DCP, accepted the challenge of dealing with the day-to-day complications and establishing a sound basis for management decisions. Members of the DCP Board volunteered. Patti Dougherty accepted the daunting job of treasurer, and Pam Hayes became Vice President. Other members contributed as we made plans for the future.
Senior Connections is a group volunteer effort. Even as Judith Josephs extends her commitment much beyond what is officially defined, we all donate our time and effort to maintaining and improving the bus service that means so much to so many.
