Self-healing and Stress Relief Programs at Scotch Plains Public Library

Scotch Plains Public Library will offer workshops on two Thursday evenings this August, geared towards relaxation and personal healing. They are scheduled to ease our re-entry to another school year and the stresses and pressures of busy lives.

On Thursday, August 9th at 7:00 pm, the topic will be “Aromatherapy Workshop: An Invitation to Walk in Health,” with Susan Martz.  Participants will hear about the speaker’s conviction that essential oils can enhance health, and will learn practical uses for everyday life. Susan Martz, a Certified Yoga Instructor, has taught fitness and wellness for over fifteen years. She states that her passion is “raising environmental awareness and helping others empower themselves toward personal healing.”

On Thursday, August 23rd at 7:00 pm. Emily Adams will share techniques and strategies in her workshop on “Stress Relief.”  Emily Adams, a licensed esthetician trained in skin care and relaxation massage, will discuss the effects of stress on the body and will demonstrate techniques, including guided relaxation meditation, and guided visualization.

All interested members of the public are invited to attend these free programs.  Attendees are encouraged to register through the library’s website: http://www.scotlib.org or by phone: 908-322-5007, x.204 or e-mail library@scotlib.org. The Scotch Plains Library is located at 1927 Bartle Avenue, one block from Park Avenue in the center of town. More information about the library’s programming can be found at http://www.scotlib.org.
