Allentown, PA - On Sept. 1, the Soccer Domain Football Club (SDFC) Boys Yellow team opened their Fall season Labor Day weekend by bringing home the championship from the Under 9 Elite Division at the Lou Ramos Classic in Allentown, PA. The team, based out of Montclair, includes four Livingston residents – Jared Fiske, Charlie Grossman, Aaron Henslovitz and Spencer Jahng. On the opening day of the tournament, SDFC Santos Yellow defeated Cedar Stars Academy 7-4 and host club Lehigh Valley United (PA) 3-1. Sunday opened with a 2-0 victory over Lower Merion Soccer Club (PA), where the score did not show the level of domination that SDFC held, with a sublime display of short, sharp passing ‘football’ which created chance after chance, cutting through the opposition defense.
In the final, SDFC Santos Yellow met Cedar Stars Academy again who were out for revenge from the first game. While SDFC dominated in terms of possession and chances created, the opponents made life difficult with a passionate, energetic and physical encounter. At 2-2 with 5 minutes left, a quickly taken short corner caught the defenders napping as SDFC scored again to win the game 3-2 and take home the trophy.
“The boys have been excellent all weekend, improving in each game and rising to each challenge. Not only do the boys look to play a quick passing game, dangerous in the final 3rd and excelling with regards to individual technique, they also play with great mental strength and competitive spirit. We are looking forward to the season ahead and the training process in place at SDFC to help each player and the team continue its outstanding progress to date.” said Paul Nash, SDFC Director of Boys Coaching & Santos Yellow Head Coach
