L-I-T-E-R-A-C-Y is an eight-letter word worth twenty-one points in the game of Scrabble. In the game of life, literacy is priceless.

That's why Literacy Volunteers of Sussex County is holding its annual Scrabble Scrimmage, to cover some of the costs of its free tutoring of adults in English.  This year the Scrimmage wll be held at the Administration Building on the Fairgrounds.  It will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 22 (snow date 2/23).  It is always fun for both beginning and expert Scrabble players (different tables are available for different levels of skill).  The excitement of the game is enhanced by delectable snacks and prizes.  The cost is $25 per person ($15 for seniors, students and tutors).

The proceeds all go to LiteracyVolunteers' free, confidential tutoring of adults--both Americans and adults from other countries--in English and related skills.  For additional information on the Scrimmage or Literacy Volunteers, see our web site www.literacyforyou.org or call 973-300-9444.
