Scouts Honor Outstanding Women at the 19th Annual Sussex County Tribute to Women Awards Luncheon

The Boy Scouts of America, Patriots’ Path Council will be honoring local women at the Sussex County Tribute to Women Awards Luncheon. Colleen Apter, Buffie Dobbs, Linda Hogan, Honorable Helen R. Le Frois, and Ann M. Pompelio will be honored on Friday, May 10, 2013 at The Lake Mohawk Golf Club in Sparta for serving as exemplary role models for the youth of our area.  These recipients are chosen for their outstanding services as evidenced by the interest and leadership they have demonstrated within the community of Sussex County.  They are citizens who live the ideals of the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. The 2013 luncheon chair is Ailish Hambel of New Jersey Transit. The 2013 luncheon committee includes: Mary Ann Deacon, Laura DeLea, Buffie Dobbs, Tammie Horsfield, Jennifer Lynch, Beth Malkin, Sara Megletti, Laura Tirpack, and Barbara Wortmann.

 
This year’s five honorees prove to be outstanding role models to our youth in Sussex County. Colleen Apter is the marketing director for J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels and founded "Trails for Healing", an equine based program that works with grieving children. Buffie Dobbs is Partner/Designer at Dobbs Creative Group, LLC and a board member for Newton Medical Foundation and Pass It Along. Linda Hogan is Executive Vice President at Cable TV Advertising Associates, Inc and an active volunteer in Cub Scout Pack 82 and Boy Scout Troop 82 in Sparta. Helen R. Le Frois is the Director of Development at Jersey Battered Women’s Service, Inc. and has served as both Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Newton. And Ann M. Pompelio is a Family Law Lawyer in Newton and an active volunteer at Project Self Sufficiency, conducting seminars and providing legal consultations to its clients.
 
 
Through the Sussex County Tribute to Women Awards Luncheon funds will be raised to support the award-winning child abuse prevention programs offered to the community at large by the Boy Scouts of America. The Patriots’ Path Council ranks high among all the Boy Scout Councils in the nation in their fight against child abuse. For their outstanding example to the youth of their communities, the Boy Scouts of America, Patriots’ Path Council salutes Colleen Apter, Buffie Dobbs, Linda Hogan, Honorable Helen R. Le Frois, and Ann M. Pompelio with the 2013 Sussex County Tribute to Women Award.
